OVERVIEW:
At first glance Disneys Animal Kingdom Lodge, evokes images of a sleepy, little thatched-roof game lodge in the wilds of South Africa. Upon closer examination, however, the only thing sleepy or little are
the small creatures that live there. These animals along with the larger ones live on the 33 acre re-created African savanna, that practically surrounds the resort. In all, over 100 birds and animals, including Zebras, Giraffes & Wilderbeasts call this wildlife preserve home. The lobby is a tremendous, high ceilinged room, richly appointed with colorful African artwork and artifacts. The biggest draw here is neither the large mud fireplace nor the rope bridge spanning the cavernous chamber, but the four story observation window overlooking the savanna. It is just one of the oversized portals through which to gaze upon the meandering wildlife. The resort is shaped like a horseshoe with 90% of the guest rooms having a direct view of the savanna areas. A large glass wall separates the lobby from an area where guests can come out and sit near a fire pit and listen to stories told every night by a CM from Africa. This is located in the back of the resort and looks out into the savannah.

ROOMS:
Rooms are finished in traditional tapestries and vibrant colors,
feature hand crafted dark wood furniture (no two pieces are
alike), sand-colored walls, and earth-tone patterned carpets.
Deluxe rooms are a bit more spacious than their counterparts.
Most rooms have two queen beds (some king-size beds are
available), plus a daybed to accomidate up to 5 persons. Bunk
beds are available in many rooms. All rooms have balconies.
Suites have a parlor, plus two or three bedrooms, there are
queen or king sized beds in the bedrooms.

NOTE: Like the real African game lodges, some beds come
draped with mosquito netting.
