CALYPSO CAY LAKE BUENA VISTA FLORIDA

On our most recent trip(July 02) we stayed at a new resort called Calypso Cay. The first thing you need to know is that Calypso Cay is large. They have five vacation villas being built. On our trip only one villa was up. They also have a Country Inn and Suites and Ameri Suites on site. They also have Runaway Bay hotel/Apartments. La Quinta just broke ground there also. Each resort on Calypso Cay property is themed to the tropics. They have tropical colors and tropical plants. One of the best things is that Calypso Cay is only located three miles away from Disney. They also offer free transportation to Disney, Universal, Sea World and the Lake Buena Vista Shopping Center.
The first thing we would do every morning is go down for the free breakfast. They served eggs, waffles, toast, doughnuts and all of your other breakfast needs. Don't forget to pick up your free copy of the USA today.
Calypso Cay is great for kids. They currently have four pools with a lazy river type pool opening soon. One of the many pools has a water slide and is a zero entry pool meaning you can walk right into it. This resort also has a little playground with a jungle jim for the little ones. Each resort building also has a video arcade and fitness room. Another highlight here for the kids would be the 18 hole mini golf course. It is a very nice course that has some difficult holes on it. I didn't do the best.
Now onto the room we stayed in. The place is very bright. We stayed in the three bedroom timeshare unit. We had a total of four beds. We had one large kitchen and a smaller kitchen in another room. The
dining room had a large table that could accommodate eight people. Their was a smaller bar where people could eat at in the other kitchen. The family room area had a 25 inch color TV and a stero
system with surround sound. Our room also had two large balconies over looking the pool. The master bedroom had a large king bed. Their was also a large 25 inch TV. The master bath included a
garden tub. The master bath also had a nice vanity area. The second bedroom we had, had two full size beds and a 25 inch color TV. This room also had a nice sized bathroom. Our third bedroom had 1 king
bed with a 25 inch TV also. It also had a nice bathroom. We had two laundry rooms with a washer and dishwasher. No need to bring plates or utensils here. The resort provides them for you. You also have
plenty of towels. You also get detergent for the laundry and dish washer included in your room price.
If you walk over to the Runaway Bay area and go into the lobby you can go to the theater and watch a movie. You can go play basketball in the inside court. You can go over and play pool in the pool room. Their is a large fitness center in this building also.
Do you need some more atmosphere? You can go out and sit on the dock and watch the sunset over the beautiful lake front view. Or go over to the main pool and listen to the live music performed by the
tiki bar. The tiki bar offers snack foods. Nothing real big. Their are plenty of places to sit at and enjoy the atmosphere that Calypso Cay offers you.
This has to be the best resort I have stayed at. The price was great. The rooms were very clean. The staff treated you like gold. This place gets five stars in my book. I do not know how many stars
it is actually rated. This place is truly a vacationers dream. You will have the time of your life at Calypso Cay.
