Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort is the first of the
moderate resorts. It first opened to guests on
October 1, 1988. The resort has 5 different villages.
Each village has it's own pastel colored building.
TIP: The closest rooms to the main building,
Old Port Royale, are found in Martinique
buildings and Trinidad North: They are classified
as Preferred View Rooms
POOLS/RECREATION:
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort main pool is found
at Old Port Royale and is themed to resemble an old
Spanish-style Caribbean fort complete with pirates'
cannons and stone walls. There is a water slide, kiddie
pool and spa here as well. In addition to the main pool,
each village has its own quiet pool (including two at
Trinidad, one for the North building and one for the South),
and a white sand beach with hammocks and a playground.
TIP: Pool towels are not available, bring your room
towels with you when using the pool facilities.
"Island of the Caribbean Pirate Adventure,"
For Little pirates ages 4-10 (must be potty-trained), take an
adventure on a boat and sail to the ports of the Caribbean,
just like Captain Jack Sparrow! Hear the story of Old Port
Royale and of the pirates that used to sail the waters. Find
props and signs leading to treasure. Recover the treasure,
and sail to Fort Cay to trade for some grub (lunch: peanut butter and jelly Uncrustables, gummy bears, goldfish treats, and apple juice box). Return to Old Port Royale, your pirate will unlock the treasure chest and the bounty will be shared by all. Water cruise runs Tuesdays, 9:30 - 11:30
CALYSPO TRADING POST
Open daily from 7am to 11:30pm (subject to change). Located
in Old Port Royale. Here you can find character merchandise,
snacks, convenience items, film, film processing, stamps, and
more.
OLD PORT ROYALE FOOD COURT
Open daily from 6am to Midnight. Located in Old Port Royale. Here you will find everything from fresh fruits and snacks to complete meals. Be sure to pick up a Caribbean Resort souvenir mug. You can refill it with coffee or soft drinks for free during your entire stay at the food court.
SHUTTERS
Located at Old Port Royale. A table service restaurant, adjacent to the food court from 5 to 10 pm. Alcoholic beverages, including tropical specialties, are available at
STRAW MARKET
Located in Old Port Royale. Open daily from 7am to 11:30pm (subject to change). They offer Caribbean Resort merchandise, non-character merchandise, clothing, swimwear, and more.
CAPTAIN'S TAVERN
Located in Old Port Royale. This is a full service restaurant open for dinner only from 5pm to 10pm daily. They offer Caribbean cuisine in a casual family atmosphere. The also offer a full bar.
BAREFOOT BAY BOATYARD
Located by the Old Port Royale Lighthouse. Open from 10am to 5pm. Here you can rent pedal boats, pontoon boats, sailboats, water mouse (mice?), and canoes. Rentals are by the hour or half hour.
NOTE: Rental Policy Recreational Boats
WaterMouse, which permits Guests at least 12 years old and 5 feet tall to operate independently as long as the parent/legal guardian signs for the child.
BAREFOOT BAY BIKE WORKS
Located by the Old Port Royale Lighthouse. Open from 7:30am till one half hour before sunset. Here you can rent bikes, child seats, and helmet by the hour or day (no overnight rentals). They even have a few bikes with training wheels for the little ones.
FISHING EXCURSION
Premiering in March you will be able to take a 2 hour private fishing excursion at Caribbean Beach Resort. This is strictly catch and release however. Maximum number of guests is two. Your rate includes use of the boat, equipment and a guide. Reservation recommended.
