Disney's Contemporary Resort is one of the original resorts that opened when Disney World did on
October 1, 1971. The resort has a total of 1041 rooms. The Convention Center opened November 11, 1991.
The resort has 3 buildings.The Tower is the main building and is 15 stories tall. There are also 2 Wing buildings.
TIP: For rooms close to the food area, monorail and bus stop, choose the North Garden wing. The South wing rooms are closer to the pool, and convention center. The Tower rooms offer incredible views of Bay Lake, the Seven Seas Lagoon or the Magic Kingdom® Park. They are also closer to the monorail station, restaurants and shops. Garden wing rooms can be quite a distance from the monorail. However because of the proximity to the Grand Canyon Concourse, some Tower rooms may be noisy.

Concierge services
The 12th floor is called the Tower Club , which is basically
Contemporary Concierge Light. Concierge services are available
from 7am to 4pm on the 12th floor.Special services on the 12th
floor include: complimentary continental breakfast, and concierge
services during 7-4pm. Use the Concierge. They can perform
miracles for you. No reservations available at Chef Mickey's you
say. Call the concierge, and not only will you get a dinner
reservation, but you will be seated at the next available table.
Remember you are paying for their services - USE THEM .
Now, the 14th floor concierge is a full service concierge. There
is a FULL continental breakfast (much bigger than the 12th floor), daily appetizers catered by the California Grill, and nightly desserts catered by the California Grill. There is a nightly turndown service, and they leave a little chocolate Mickey (solid chocolate) on your pillow every night. The concierge is available from 7am to 10pm to make dining reservations, plan outings, answer questions, everything.
The concierge lounge on the 14th floor ONLY has free beer, wine, soda, and water bottles all day. Each 14th floor level room has a refrigerator stocked with free soda, water, beer, and wine. Room rates are double the average tower room, so you can determine if the service is worth the added expense. Discounts are offered on the 12th floor rooms, with Annual Passholder. No discounts are offered on the 14th floor suite rooms. Small, in-room refrigerators are available for a daily charge of $10.60 (includes tax). To arrange for an in-room refrigerator simply request one at check-in. If you require one for medical reasons, have CRO put a note on your reservation form.There are coin operated laundry machines located in the north and south garden wings Additionally, dry cleaning services are available for a fee. The washing machine costs $1.00, as does the dryer.
Pools:
There are 2 pools, playground, tennis, volleyball, parasailing, water skiing, and a jogging path. The pools areas feature fountains, lap lanes, whirlpool, kiddie pool, and interactive children's water area.
Guest Services:
Located in the Tower. They offer general information, dinner show reservations, ticket sales, and area transportation arrangements.
Bay View Gifts:
Located on the 4th floor of the Tower. Open daily from 8am to 11pm. Here you will find seasonal gifts, cigars, film, film processing, stamps, and more.
Contemporary Man & Contemporary Woman:
Located on the 4th floor of the Tower. Open daily from 8am to 11pm. Offering mens & womans sportswear, swimwear, and accessories.
Fantasia:
Located on the 4th floor of the Tower. Open 8am to 11pm daily. They have adult and children's character clothing, character merchandise, gifts, and accessories.
Concourse Steak House:
Located on the 4th floor of the Tower. All meals are served ala carte. Breakfast is offered 7am to 11:30am, lunch from 11:45am to 2:30pm, and dinner from 5:30pm to 10pm. Steaks and seafood are the cuisine.
Chef Mickey:
Located on the 4th floor of the Tower. Home of the 100 foot buffet. Breakfast is served from 7am to 11:30am. The characters at breakfast are Mickey, Minnie, Chip, Dale, and Pluto. Dinner is served from 5pm to 9:30pm. Dinner characters are Mickey, Minnie, Chip, Dale, Goofy, and Donald. Priority seating is recommended
Located on the 15th floor of the Tower. Open for dinner only from 5pm to 10pm. This award winning restaurant offers the best of wine and cuisine from California's wine region. Note: The podium for the California Grill is located on the 2nd floor of the Contemporary Resort, just outside the elevator at the top of the escalator. After check-in you will be escorted to the California Grill on floor 15.
Marina:
Open daily from 10am to 7pm (subject to change). They offer rentals of canopy boats, float boats, pontoon boats, sailboats, Sunfish, and water mouse (mice?). You can also sign up for parasailing and water skiing.
