Opened on February 8, 2001, Disney's California Adventure (DCA) occupies
about 55 acres of the former 100 acre Disneyland parking lot. Located
immediately to the south of the Magic Kingdom, this entirely separate
gated attraction (theme park talk for separate admission price) features
the allure of California in microcosm form. In the illustration below, you
can see a night aerial view of Disneyland to the upper right, the Disneyland
Hotel complex to the upper left, and DCA just below that.
Visitors can explore favorite places and enjoy special experiences that are
unique to California, including thrilling attractions and exciting live entertainment.
The Toy Story Mania (set to open in 2008)

You will ride and play inside a toybox. Celebrating the
Disney*Pixar classics “Toy Story” and “Toy Story II,” Toy
Story Mania will take the interactive ride-game experience
to exciting new heights.
Toy Story Mania will debut at Disney’s California Adventure®
Park and Disney-MGM Studios. Donning 3-D glasses, Guests
shrink to the size of a toy and hop into fanciful ride vehicles
that travel and twist along a colorful midway-theme route. Upon arriving at each game booth, you will aim for animated targets using your own special on-board “toy cannon.”
As you score points, you will be cheered on by your favorite “Toy Story” friends like Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Hamm, Bo Peep and the Little Green Men. Hidden targets give players extra points and lead to different levels of play. The energy of the characters, the competition with other riders and the hilarious, unpredictable game action make this a unique experience that families will want to try again and again.
No matter how many times you return to ride and play, you can be sure every ride-through will be different. Players pair up and sit side-by-side for a friendly competition that delivers an ever-changing variety of targets and surprises.

high-energy, high-flying street spectacular of amazing aerial acrobatics! Over 60 singers, dancers, acrobatic gymnasts and characters from your favorite Walt Disney Presentation of a Pixar Animation Studios films including: The Incredibles, Toy Story 2, Monsters, Inc., and a bug's life!
Golden State
Upon entering the Park underneath a replica of the Golden Gate Bridge you are immediately transformed to a "California" within California. From this focal point, the three themed lands beckon for your attention.
Soarin' Over California
The crowning jewel of Disney’s California Adventure during the grand opening. This truly original attraction is a hang gliding IMAX-type cinema experience. The queue is themed with great aviators from California’s past and present. Soarin’ takes guests on a whirlwind tour of the greatest natural and manmade landmarks in the State of California. Some of the highlights include the Golden Gate Bridge, Redwood Forests, San Diego shipyards, Downtown Los Angeles, and the California shoreline. The show concludes with a nighttime flight over Disneyland during the Holidays directly into a simulated fireworks show. Grizzly River Run
The primary icon of Disney’s California Adventure, the Grizzly Peak is
featured all over the park in various merchandise and plush toys. This
attraction is another great ride to add to the Disneyland Resort list.
The Grizzly River Run features a 45-foot climb and 2 drops. Height

Redwood Creek Challenge Trail
A children's play area in the redwood forests of Northern California. The
Trail features several faux redwood trees, including “Big Sir” Redwood,

Seasons of the Vine
Holds about fifty people in a vintage wine-aging room and is viewed though a special wine-window. Seasons features the story behind every barrel of wine produced, from the humble beginnings of Spanish wine makers to the vast wine country of today. Guests travel with the narrator through the life of the vines, from the pruning of the vines, through the troubled growing season, to the production of the wine making. Boudin Bakery Tour
A sourdough factory tour, hosted by Boudin Bakery. This show is little more interesting as Rosie O’Donnell and Colin Mochrie guides the tour via video. Rosie and Colin guide you on a quick tour of the modern method of making bread and other baked goods. Wheelchair Assessible
Mission Tortilla Factory Tour
A tortilla factory tour, hosted by Mission Tortilla. The Tortilla Factory Tour might sounds a little bit on the slow side, but the tour is actually quite interesting as you hear how tortilla have been made through the years. Golden Dreams

To celebrate the magic of the movie business, travel over to Hollywood Pictures Backlot, where reality blends into illusion. You just might see your favorite soap star doing lunch at their favorite bistro.
Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue!
When Boo’s escapes into Monstropolis and she needs some help! Climb
aboard waiting taxis and hit the streets of Monstropolis to follow Mike and
Sulley on their mission of safely returning “Boo” to her bedroom. You will
witness the chaos of a child on the loose in Monstropolis, they encounter
the super-sneaky Randall Boggs, the yellow-suited agents of the CDA
(Child Detection Agency) and other characters from the film. Guests will
even get to see the seemingly endless Monsters, Inc. door vault and receive
a unique, personalized farewell from the slug-like, ever watchful factory
dispatcher Roz!
The attraction features more than 40 characters in 16 distinct scenes, plus
incorporates the unique use of both black-light and white-light illuminated sets.
Technical highlights of the attraction include seemingly personalized farewell
remarks to passing guests from Roz and a multi-hued Randall Boggs who
changes colors as little Boo “bonks” him on his head in the attraction’s finale.
“Turtle Talk with Crush”

You will have an in-depth chat with Crush, the totally "awesome" sea
turtle from the Walt Disney Pictures presentation of a Pixar Animation
Studios film, "Finding Nemo." These live chats are unrehearsed
conversations with this denizen of the digital deep who talks, jokes and
even recognizes Guests. Dive in to the Animation Building at Disney's
California Adventure™ park. Crush's speech and actions are specific to
each audience. Crush asks Guests questions about the human world
and answers questions about his underwater world. Crush is a 150 year-old sea turtle and the father of Squirt, who is very curious about the human world.
Playhouse Disney - Live on Stage!
Located in the Hollywood Pictures Backlot, this 21-minutes musical show "invites children and adults alike to dance, twirl, sing and learn with a host of character favorites straight from Disney Channel’s Playhouse Disney programming block." Assistive Listening Device, Wheelchair Assessable
