The Old Mississippi is the theme of
the Disney's Port Orleans Resort -
Riverside. Here you will find a combination
of the great plantation mansions and
bayou villages.
There are four mansion style buildings
and 16 bayou, all connected by bridges to the Ol' Man Island pool/fishing area. The Sassagoula River winds through the resort. With spectacular gardens and fountains are the mainstays of the mansion areas.
In the Alligator Bayou, you'll find Cajun style brick or stucco lodges with wide front porches and rough hewn railings. These are set in dense moss hung pine forests and creeks.
The feature pool here is known as Old Man Island and is themed to represent the old swimmin' hole. It has a waterslide, kiddie pool, and spa. Nearby there is also a family fishin' hole.
ROOMS:
Rooms accommodate four guests, plus one child under the
age of 3 in a crib.
Rooms in the Alligator Bayou can accommodate an
additional child in a trundle bed (NO EXTRA CHARGE).
963 of the Bayou rooms have a trundle bed 54" long
(sleeps one child).
Non-smoking and disabled-accessible rooms are available.
All Walt Disney World® Resort Hotels offer rooms equipped
for guests with disabilities: wide doorways, additional handrails
and special bathrooms.
TIPS: For a room close to the main building/food court,
ask for the Oak Manor pictures (mansion) or Alligator Bayou
buildings 14, 15 or 18. For a room close to the main
pool, (Ol' Man Island), ask for the Arcadian House or
Magnolia Terrace (mansions) or Alligator Bayou buildings
27 or 38. The closest buildings to the bus depots would
be the Arcadian House and Magnolia Terrace or Alligator
Bayou buildings 24, 34 or 37.
POOL:
The main pool area is found on Ol' Man Island. Here you'll find a large pool with a water slide, a spa, a kiddie pool and a playground. Five quiet pools are spread throughout the resort area. There are changerooms/restroom facilities at each pool. Guests of Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside are welcome to use the pool facilities at its sister resort next door, Port Orleans French Quarter, as well.

Dine along the riverfront docks in this shipbuilder's warehouse featuring fantastic home-style favorites. Enjoy classic American favorites in a waterfront environment. This restored boat-construction warehouse is a shipbuilder's paradise along the Sassagoula River. Home-style meals include heapin' "Tin Pans" for breakfast and tantalizing Southern entrées for dinner.

Chidrens Cruise
Sassagoula River Adventure Cruise. Children ages 4-12 can enjoy the 2 hour special cruise on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday 11:30 - 1:30. The kids will explore the Sassagoula River and at the end they will get to meet Jester.
Campfire on de Bayou at Port Orleans Riverside
Being held Sundays, Tuesdays, and Fridays, 6:30-8 p.m. (weather permitting). Enjoy the fun around a campfire on Ol' Man Island as you sing and eat s'mores (kits available for $5.25). Seating is very limited; make reservations by calling the resort or stopping by the Port Orleans Riverside Marina.

Climb, slide and play to your heart's content on a playground located on Ol' Man Island.
Watercraft Rentals:
Spend some time on the river with a kayak, canopy boat, pontoon boat or WaterMouse, Sea Raycer by Sea Ray®.
Rental Policy Recreational Boats
WaterMouse, permits Guests at least 12 years old and 5 feet tall to operate independently as long as the parent/legal guardian signs for the child.
Jogging Trail:
Take a scenic .7-mile run along the Sassagoula River.
Bike Rentals:
Rent a bike or surrey for a leisurely ride.
Fishing:
Hook a fun-filled fishing trip for the entire family. (Catch and release only)
Horse Drawn Excursions:
