Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa: Simpley elegant. From the concert pianist to the five story atrium, to the great beech setting. The location is convenient with the monorail. Next door to the Magic Kingdom® Park is neat if you have young children. by William New Hartford, NY
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is the most elegant of all Walt Disney World® Resort. My family and I stayed there about a year ago. Although it has beauty and elegance, it is too stuffy for a family resort. for couples or older adults it is perfect, but familles would be much happier at a more "fun" resort like the Disney's BoardWalk Inn, Disney's Polynesian Resort, Disney's Polynesian Resort, Disney's All-Star Resorts, Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, or Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge - by Stagedoor Kid

The GF "atmosphere." It is beautiful, and it is certainly worth a stop and shop, but with kids, I'd be worried. My son did the Pirate Cruise from there last spring, and I had to keep shhing and "stop running" him the whole time. It didn't matter to him in the long run, but I felt bad that I couldn't let him just enjoy the moment. (And, no, my kid isn't a wild child or anything, I swear!)
We've stayed at the Contemporary and Polynesian, and I like them both. I was somewhere in the 7 - 10 age range when we stayed at the Contemporary, and I remember thinking it was really cool to watch the monorail from the hallway. (who needs the Magic Kingdom when you have that....) I stayed at the Poly as a child and adult, and I loved it every time. by - denisejd

THE GF IS GORGEOUS!!...however, like someone had mentioned, the people who stay there do tend to have their noses stuck in the air. Anyways, the atmosphere is spectacular! However, I feel it more for adults than children, even though they do offer the 1900 Park Fare character breakfast and the Wonderland Tea Party...it's the perfect romantic getaway! It's a must stay for at least one time! I haven't been to the Contemporary yet, but I have heard great things about it...mainly that it's more family oriented. I stayed at the GF when I was a kid in the Lodge Tower with a view of the castle!! ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!! I never forgot it...ever since I've been wanting to take my fiancee. Just ask your kids which they would prefer...most likely Cont...but ask them anyways. My personal favorite is the GF. by - foolishmortal7131

The Grand Floridian is wonderful, Jim and I stayed there last May and are going to be checking in on Friday for another stay. Last time we had a lagoon view room w/ a view of the castle. We booked a lagoon view this time as well and are hoping to be able to see the castle from our room during this stay too. We've eaten at Narcossee's, the food was wonderful but the resturaunt was a bit busy. We are hoping to try another 2 resturaunts there during this stay. Both of the pools are very nice, never too busy, and the beach is so relaxing! The service at the resort is great, everyone there is just wonderful. by - Lindsey
