Downtown Disney® Pleasure Island
Overview:
Located on six-acres of sophisticated evening entertainment. Pleasure Island is located in the center of Downtown Disney® Area, between the shops at The Downtown Disney® Marketplace and the nightclubs and performance halls at Disney's West Side. Daytime activities are slower paced and you can shop at the island's trendy stores, have lunch at one of several restaurants, or catch a matinee at the 24 screen movie theater complex: At night Downtown Disney® Pleasure Island is transformed from the slower paced daytime to a merry celebration. The streets fill up with party-goers, and the nightclubs open their doors. At midnight, there's a splashy New Year's Eve celebration and fireworks show, and the partying continues into the wee hours. Every night at Downtown Disney® Pleasure Island is a street party, often with special entertainment events, visiting performers, or seasonal celebrations.
To sample all of the island's legendary nightlife, you'll need to start early; some clubs get rolling as early as 7:30 PM. Club entertainment changes frequently. For special entertainment events, contact Disney World® Theme Park Information (407 824-4321). As you enter Downtown Disney® Pleasure Island, pick up an entertainment schedule, which lists performance times at the clubs
How to Get There:
Downtown Disney® Pleasure Island is located at Downtown Disney® Area. There's free parking in the lots at Pleasure Island and at the nearby Downtown Disney® Marketplace and Downtown Disney® West Side. Starting at 5:30 PM, valet parking is available for about $6. Disney buses travel at night between all Walt Disney World® Resorts and theme parks and Downtown Disney® Pleasure Island. There are water taxis to Downtown Disney® Area from the following resorts: Disney's Old Key West Resort, Disney's Port Orleans- Riverside Resort, and Disney's Port Orleans - French Quarter Resort. Taxi service is available. Friday and Saturday nights draw huge crowds, and it can be very difficult to park at Pleasure Island.
Restrictions:
After 7 PM, no one under eighteen is permitted on Downtown Disney® Pleasure Island or inside the clubs without an accompanying adult, except in Mannequins Dance Palace and BET SoundStage Club, which prohibit anyone under the age of twenty-one. Visitors over eighteen need a picture ID (valid passport, U.S. driver's license, or foreign driver's license with a backup ID). Florida law prohibits serving alcohol to anyone under twenty-one. Alcoholic beverages may be consumed anywhere at Downtown Disney® Pleasure Island as long as they are carried in plastic cups, which are conveniently placed at club exits. Smoking is not permitted in some clubs.
Entertainment:
There are 8 clubs from Jazz and Improv Comedy, whatever your pleasure, this island has a nightclub just for you. In addition to the 8 clubs, nightly entertainment also includes live music on the West End Stage, comedy routines and dance shows. Every night at midnight is a a New Year's s celebration.
Celebrate New Years Every Night! on the West End Stage at 11:45 PM . The show is performed by the Downtown Disney® Pleasure Island Explosion Dancers and features lots of lasers, lights and music until the "New Year" arrives at midnight with a display of fireworks and streams of confetti.
NOTE: For safety reasons during the fireworks, the bridge between Downtown Disney® Pleasure Island and the Downtown Disney® West Side is closed (including the restrooms located there) from 11:30pm to 12:05am.
Authentic Irish Pub
Irish hospitality and a bit of blarney will be coming to Downtown Disney at the Walt Disney World® Resort in the form of an authentic Irish pub and restaurant. Scheduled to open in summer 2005, the pub (which has yet to be named) will feature the very best of Irish food, flair, heritage and entertainment.
Traditional and contemporary Irish music, storytelling and dance will help create a lively social ambience and the friendly pub staff will bring Emerald Isle charm to Downtown Disney.
The restaurant's delights will be the work of Chef Kevin Dundon, one of Ireland's best-known chefs. He will introduce a menu that blends traditional Irish fare and fresh ingredients, all with a modern flair. Chef Dundon's credits include cooking for celebrities and heads of state, overseeing deluxe international hotel cuisine, opening a premiere hotel and restaurant and appearing in his own television series.
The Irish pub will occupy the building that formerly housed The Jazz Company. Pleasure Island club admission is not required for entrance to the pub.
Adventurers Club
Step into the 1930s at Adventurers Club, where you will enjoy live stage shows in an eccentric explorers club. Laugh at our daring adventures in four outrageous rooms filled with continuous entertainment.
BET SoundStage Club
This club delivers urban contemporary entertainment consistent with the programming of the BET Cable Network. Groove to the sounds of R&B and hip-hop on an expanded dance floor, or chill at an outdoor terrace. The club also serves a Caribbean-style finger-food menu.
The Comedy Warehouse
Laugh along when the Who, What and Warehouse Players create and deliver the funniest improv comedy. It's never the same show twice.
Mannequins Dance Palace
Move to the hot dance mix at Mannequins, Downtown Disney® Pleasure Islands ultimate dance club, on a revolving floor that spins you through the state-of-the-art light and sound systems. Voted No. 1 dance club in the Southeast.
The Pleasure Island Jazz Company
At the Pleasure Island Jazz Company, savor the smooth jazz sounds from the most current innovators and legendary vocalists.

House of Blues announces 'Pass the Line' Program
For information, call the House of Blues Box Office, 407-934-2583 or the House of Blues Restaurant, 407-934-2623 House of Blues recently announced a new program that rewards concert guests for dining at the House of Blues Restaurant at Downtown Disney West Side.
"Pass the Line" offers clients who dine at the House of Blues Restaurant before attending a House of Blues show, the opportunity to use an exclusive queue line to enter the venue 5-10 minutes prior to the scheduled door opening time. To utilize this program, each ticket holder must purchase one dinner entrée or spend $35 in the House of Blues Company Store. "Pass the Line" is not available for all shows or events.
Orlando Harley-Davidson Retail Location Coming to Downtown Disney Pleasure Island
An Orlando Harley-Davidson retail location is scheduled to be added to the vast array of offerings in late March 2005. The retail store, located at Downtown Disney Pleasure Island, will have custom Harley's on display and will feature renowned genuine Harley-Davidson articles such as T-shirts, gifts and collectibles.
