Review of Kilimanjaro Safaris®
By Chris Schuck

The queue area is quite long and winds its way through several displays of animals and buildings. It is themed very well. I enjoyed walking through it. BUT you should get a Disney's FASTPASS® Ticket we went in not thinking the line was going to be that bad, we waited 1 hour and thirty minutes. Next time we are going to get a Disney's FASTPASS® Ticket. The tip to this is go early or go late.

Kilimanjaro Safaris® is a ride on an open-aired jeep. Your guide will tell you all about the wonderful animals. The guides are very good at their job. The jeep is quite high up - bus height - so you get a good view as you drive through 100 acres of savanna

You should put any items you have into the holders - this ride gets bumpy in several places. I almost lost my video camera once. Keep your camera ready at all times, because you never know what you'll see around the next corner.

Shortly after you depart, you'll be asked to keep an eye out for elephant poachers - and this plot develops as you go along. It makes for a very interesting trip.

You'll see African animals such as Nyala, Common Eland, Scimitar-horned Oryx, hippos, Termite mounds, Thompson Gazelle Baboons, Antelope, Giraffes, zebras, gazelle,

Cheetah. There are many other animals but that is all I can remember off the top my head. Some animals I had never seen before.  The rides you take will always be different. No two rides are alike. You will see a different selection of animals each time you go.

The animals have the right of way. The driver has to wait for antelope or other animals to stroll by. Our driver on one of our trips had to wait for several flamingos in one of the ponds. You do drive right into the rivers and ponds.

When you finally encounter the elephant poachers on your safari, hang on! Some of the drivers take the challenge of chasing them quite seriously. You pass their camp and help in their capture.

You exit Kilimanjaro Safaris® at a Gorilla Falls viewing area. This area is beautiful just like all of Animal Kingdom® Theme Park is.

*TIP*: Here are some of my tips for you. Most people don't think you should ride when it rains. That would be wrong. Most of the animals come out during the rain. So in my book this is the best time to go.
