Test Track Review
by: Chris Schuck

I tried out Test Track on my last visit to Walt Disney World® Resort. The ride is fast paced and really has some surprise turns while out on the track. This ride is intended to be a test track for a new car. This ride certainly goes a long way towards creating that environment.

First you have to get in to line for the ride. This is the worst part of it. You can wait for a long time if you don't use a Disney's FASTPASS® Ticket. But Disney had this in mind.

Disney put up several exhibits in the line for this ride, demonstrating the car-making process. I'm not really into cars but it was still a neat thing to see. After I was in line for about 45 minutes my family and I were taken into a room with some other people to see a video explaining the ride's premise.

Following this is another wait in line, and at the end of this line, you will board your test car. Next, you and 5 other passengers board the vehicle, make one final stop to check your seat belts and you're Off! Your car is put through the lots of test of going up steep inclines, racing around turns, bouncing over cobblestones, being subjected to heat, frigid cold, and even some acid! Next you learn the difference between ABS and standard braking systems by doing some braking while going around a curve.

Finally after a few more twists and turns at high speed they set you up for your big head on collision at the end of the ride. I don't want to spoil all the surprises on this ride, but make sure you smile just before impact so you can buy a copy of the photo that they take at that point.

When the ride comes to a stop you get off and you get to go into the car show/souvenir. Here you will be able to see all kinds of GM cars and some other things related to cars. This area is also a gift shop where you can buy Test Track related items. You can purchase your picture that was taken while on the ride. It has a neat frame too. We didn't purchase the picture but wish we would have. So when we go back we are going to get one. This ride is fun but it is also not for everyone. If you have back or neck problems you should not ride Test Track because this one will jerk you around a bit. That's it. Now go have some fun on EPCOT®'s newest attraction TEST TRACK!
