Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park MAP
According to legend, Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park was formed by a hurricane, "instead of a certain watery doom, the winds swept them here to Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park..." This explains the trees that are impaled by surfboards and the location of Miss Tilly , a shrimp boat that is precariously balanced on the top of Mount Mayday.
The main water attraction is the Disney's Typhoon Lagoon
Surf Pool, the world's largest wave lagoon. However, there are also numerous slides, raft rides and open places to work on your tan.
One of the more unusual features is the Shark Reef, a Snorkeling experience with sharks. Equipment is available at No extra charge at Hammer Head Fred's Dive Shop in Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park. Guests may also use their own snorkeling equipment, however tempered glass mask only and NO fins allowed.
Don't worry about the live sharks they are small and harmless.
Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park Map
This is the latest and largest of the Disney water parks. Opened in April of 1995, Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park was built because of the continued popularity of the two other water parks.
The official ostensible story about the creation
of Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park centers around a freak snow storm. As the snow melted around Florida's first ski lodge, designers saw an alligator sliding down the slopes. This gave them the idea of turning the ski jumps and slopes into water rides.
Slalom courses, bobsled and toboggan runs became downhill waterslides. The creek of melted snow that formed at the base of the mountain became a relaxing tube ride. The chairlift carried swimmers instead of skiers. The ski jump became the tallest and fastest water slide in the world. The ski resort became known as Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park, the must slushy, slippery, exhilarating water park anywhere!
Crush 'n' Gusher.
A new water rollercoaster, not only goes down like typical water slides but also goes up. The height requirement for the slide is 48 inches. Some fun facts on the new Crush N Gusher slide: One slide from Crush 'n' Gusher can fill a standard home-size pool in about one minute. And Each Crush 'n' Gusher water jet nozzle puts out 1350 gallons per minute.
Guests will have three different fruit spillways to choose from, each ranging between 410 to 420 feet in length with varying degrees of slopes and turns -- Banana Blaster, Coconut Crusher and Pineapple Plunger.
