Overview
Disney's Yacht Club Resort, and the sister hotel Disney's Beach Club Resort, take you back to the quaint New England seaside cottages of the 1870's. Everything from hardwood floors, millwork and brasswork to host and hostess attire evokes images of New England hotels of the 19th Century.
Because the two resorts are themed for a similar age, and are located next to each other, Walt Disney World® Resort has provided a number of facilities that are shared by the two resorts. Stormalong Bay, a mini water park, stands out as the largest shared feature, though a number of restaurants and watering holes are also shared between the resorts, providing more facilities than would otherwise be expected.
Disney's Yacht Club Resort is approached along a wooden planked bridge, culminating in the Yacht Club's 5-story Oyster grey building. A lighthouse on the pier serving as a beacon to welcome guests back to the resort after a day at the attractions.
Rooms
There are a total of 630 spacious rooms available at the Disney's Yacht Club Resort each of which is decorated along a Nautical theme, with blue carpeting, and the curtains and bed linnen being a combination of blue and dusty rose. Each room generally has either two queen-sized beds, or a single king-sized bed and a day-bed. The headboard of the bed in keeping with the Nautical theme is decorated with small ship's wheels. The large bathrooms have a separate vanity unit, with double sinks, and silver mirrors trimmed with brass. Each room has a ceiling fan, a minibar, and a table with a chequerboard design and two chairs. Chess and Draughts (Checkers) sets are also provided free of charge.
Concierge rooms are also available, though as with any resort these tend to be in fairly high demand, so make reservations early. Non smonking rooms are also available, as are rooms that are specially designed to cater for guests with disabilities. 24h room service is provided to all rooms at the Disney's Yacht Club Resort. Most of the suites have a king-sized bed along with two sleeper-sofas.
